Local police forces successfully conducted two separate operations on December 10, 2024, resulting in the apprehension of individuals wanted for serious criminal offenses in Cagayan de Oro City and Lanao del Norte.

At approximately 2:30 PM, personnel from the Kapatagan Municipal Police Station (MPS) served a warrant of arrest against alias “Jennylin,” a 45-year-old male from Zone 10, Upper Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City. The operation took place at the Female Dormitory of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Barangay Lumbia, Cagayan de Oro City.

The accused faces an Alias Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Syndicated Estafa under Criminal Case No. R-CDO-19-03907-CR. The warrant, issued by Hon. Vincent F.B. Rosales, Acting Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 20, Cagayan de Oro City, was dated March 30, 2023, and does not recommend bail. The accused remains in custody at the BJMP facility.

Meanwhile, at 6:40 PM on the same day, a joint operation led by the Tubod MPS, in coordination with the Lanao del Norte Maritime Police Station (MARPSTA), Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of LDN PPO, and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) LDN PFU, resulted in the arrest of alias “Arnel,” a 36-year-old male residing in Purok 3, Brgy. Pualas, Tubod, Lanao del Norte.

Alias “Arnel” was apprehended on Pepito Street, Brgy. Poblacion, Tubod, by virtue of a warrant for the crime of Rape under Criminal Case No. 3232-07-2023. The warrant, issued by Hon. Richie Gay T. Mendoza, Presiding Judge of the RTC, 12th Judicial Region, Branch 7, Tubod, Lanao del Norte, was dated October 11, 2023, and also carried no bail recommendation. The accused is now in the custody of Tubod MPS for documentation and further proceedings.

Provincial Director PCOL Roy A. Magsalay commended the operating personnel in both cases for their dedication and professionalism. He emphasized the unwavering commitment of the Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (LDN PPO) to uphold the rule of law.

“These successful operations underscore the resolve of our law enforcement agencies to ensure that justice prevails and that those who attempt to evade it are held accountable,” said PCOL Magsalay. “The LDN PPO, alongside its partner agencies, remains steadfast in its mission to protect the community and maintain peace and order.”

These arrests mark a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat crime and deliver justice in Northern Mindanao.
