The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte has once again showcased its unwavering commitment to public service through two significant events held at the Kalimudan Hall in Pigcarangan, highlighting achievements in healthcare and child development.

Gawad Pagkilala Year 2: Celebrating Healthcare Excellence

On December 18, 2024, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) hosted the second annual Gawad Pagkilala, an event aimed at celebrating the outstanding contributions of health institutions and workers across the province. This Annual Program Implementation Review and Harmonized Awarding ceremony brought together key representatives from Rural Health Units (RHUs), Provincial Hospitals, and Private Hospitals, honoring their collective efforts to deliver quality healthcare services.

One of the event’s key highlights was the presentation of best practices from various healthcare clusters, including the Family Health Cluster, Infectious Disease Cluster, Environmental and Occupational Health Cluster, Non-Communicable Disease Cluster, Hospital Operations, and Local Health Systems Support Division. These presentations underscored the innovative strategies and successful programs implemented to enhance healthcare outcomes in Lanao del Norte.

The ceremony also featured the awarding of Best Performing Units across different programs, recognizing excellence in service delivery. Notably, Rural Sanitary Inspectors, Barangay Health Workers, and Barangay Nutrition Scholars received Service Recognition Awards for their unwavering dedication to improving the health and well-being of their communities. Additionally, the Universal Healthcare Grants Awards were presented to institutions that have made remarkable progress in advancing the province’s universal health coverage goals.

In her address, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member and Committee Chairman on Health and Sanitation, Cristy Atay, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to healthcare workers and institutions. “Salamat kaninyong tanan. Together, let’s continue to advocate positive change, ensuring that healthcare becomes not only a privilege but a universal right,” Atay said, reaffirming the provincial government’s dedication to equitable and accessible healthcare for all.

The event served as a powerful reminder of the value of collaboration and innovation in the health sector, celebrating the collective achievements of healthcare institutions and workers who are instrumental in improving public health across Lanao del Norte.

Recognizing Child Development Workers’ Contributions

The following day, December 19, 2024, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) held a special distribution event for Child Development Workers (CDWs), demonstrating the government’s appreciation for their vital role in community development. During the ceremony, 386 CDWs from across the province were awarded annual incentives, each receiving Php 2,000 in cash, 10 kilos of rice, and a women’s kit.

This initiative recognized the tireless efforts of CDWs in promoting child development programs and services that benefit families throughout Lanao del Norte. PSWDO Officer Annabelle Mendez lauded the dedication and compassion of these workers in her message. “Thank you, everyone, for bringing the spirit of volunteerism into your hearts. I am so proud of our development workers because you truly have the understanding, love, and patience in your work,” Mendez stated. “With that, the provincial government would like to extend heartfelt gratitude for your role as development workers.”

The distribution event underscored the provincial government’s commitment to supporting its development workers, ensuring they remain motivated and well-equipped to carry out their mission. By investing in those who nurture the growth and development of children, Lanao del Norte continues to demonstrate its dedication to creating a brighter future for its communities.
