Wao, Lanao del Sur – Authorities successfully apprehended a drug suspect during a joint anti-illegal drug buy-bust operation conducted in Purok 1, Barangay Eastern Wao, on December 6, 2024, at approximately 3:20 PM.

The operation, carried out by personnel from Wao Municipal Police Station (MPS), the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and Provincial Special Operations Group (PSOG) of the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LDSPPO), and the 3rd Platoon, 1st PMFC LDSPPO, led to the arrest of a suspect identified only as alias “Wawa,” a resident of Barangay Muslim Village, Wao.

Seized Evidence

Confiscated from the suspect’s possession were:

  • One heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, weighing approximately 1.5 grams with an estimated street value of Php 10,200.00;
  • The marked buy-bust money;
  • One Vivo cellphone;
  • One disposable lighter;
  • A Suzuki Smash motorcycle with engine number E472453869.

Proper Documentation

The inventory, markings, and pictorial documentation of the seized items were conducted at the operation site in the presence of the suspect, a Barangay Kagawad, and a media representative, ensuring compliance with legal procedures.

The arrested suspect, along with the confiscated items, was subsequently brought to Wao MPS for proper disposition and further investigation.

Leadership Commends the Operation

PCOL Robert S. Daculan, Provincial Director of the LDSPPO, commended the operating units for their effective coordination and diligence in executing the operation. “This successful operation reflects the dedication and commitment of our law enforcement personnel in the relentless campaign against illegal drugs,” he said.

He also reiterated the importance of sustained efforts to curb the proliferation of illegal substances in the province, emphasizing the role of community involvement in supporting anti-drug initiatives.

This operation marks another milestone in the ongoing campaign of the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office to ensure public safety and maintain peace and order in the province.
