Sibuco, Zamboanga Del Norte – October 19, 2024 – In a continued effort to investigate the abduction of American national Elliot Eastman, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States visited the Municipality of Sibuco today. The visit comes on the heels of the kidnapping that occurred on October 17, 2024.
PCPT Harris A. Ladja, Company Commander of the local police unit, was present to assist the FBI team during their visit. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mayor Joel Molina Ventura, along with members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Barangay Captain Hon. Merjan Caril.
The FBI’s representatives first met at the Office of the Mayor to discuss the ongoing investigation. Following this, they proceeded to the residence of Elliot Eastman’s wife in Sitio Tungawan, Barangay Poblacion, to offer support to the family and gather additional information related to the case.
Mayor Ventura emphasized the local government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents, stating, “We are fully cooperating with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies to bring Elliot home safely. Our community stands united against such acts of violence.”
The investigation continues as authorities work tirelessly to locate Eastman and ensure his safe return. Local and federal law enforcement agencies are encouraging anyone with information regarding the kidnapping to come forward.
