Top 3 Most Wanted Drug Dealer Arrested in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte

Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte – October 22, 2024
Authorities successfully arrested one of the region’s top most wanted persons for illegal drug trade in an operation that also led to the apprehension of his supposed transaction partner on Tuesday.

The primary suspect, identified as Joey Sanday alias “Datu Joey/Mohammad Mastura Sanday,” 40 years old, and his accomplice, Kyle Taha Mastura, also 40 years old, were arrested in Barangay Salimbao, Sultan Kudarat. Sanday, who had been the target of a warrant of arrest for his involvement in illegal drug trade, was caught in the act while transacting with Mastura on the National Road of the said barangay.

According to the Philippine National Police (PNP), the operation began as an attempt to serve a warrant for Sanday’s arrest on charges related to the sale of illegal drugs. However, when operatives arrived at the location, they found Sanday engaged in a drug deal with Mastura. Upon realizing the presence of law enforcement, the two suspects tried to flee but were quickly apprehended by the authorities.

During the arrest, operatives seized two pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu worth ₱1,428.00 from Sanday’s possession, along with an improvised glass tooter. Meanwhile, Mastura was found in possession of four sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱5,440.00, two improvised glass tooters, and other non-drug-related items.

Following the operation, both suspects were taken into custody by the Sultan Kudarat Municipal Police Station. They now face charges under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which carries severe penalties for drug-related offenses.

The successful arrest of one of the region’s most wanted drug dealers marks another significant step in the government’s ongoing campaign against illegal drugs. Local authorities commended the swift and effective action of the operatives involved, ensuring that those who violate the law will be held accountable.
