In a significant anti-drug operation, authorities arrested a 28-year-old resident in Barangay Cadayonan II, Marawi City, on Saturday, seizing approximately 20 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of Php 136,000.
The operation was executed by a coordinated team from the Marawi City Police Station/CDEU, 1st PMFC LDSPPO, 1403rd RMFC, 1402nd RMFC, and PSOG/PDEU, operating under pre-operational clearance No. 30005-102024-0142.
During the buy-bust operation, police recovered four heat-sealed plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, alongside a black cellophane and a genuine one-thousand-peso bill. The latter was found placed atop 35 pieces of photocopied one-thousand-peso bills that were used as buy-bust money. Authorities also confiscated a black Kawasaki Barako motorcycle with plate number 292 KNX.
The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights in a language he understood, and a physical inventory of the confiscated items was conducted in his presence, witnessed by a media reporter, a representative from the Department of Justice, and an elected barangay official.
In compliance with Republic Act 9165, the suspect and the seized items were transported to the Marawi City Police Station for documentation and preparation of the appropriate charges.
