Speaking to the officers and soldiers of the 6ID, Galido underscored the vital role of security forces in safeguarding democratic processes. “We should dominate the security environment because we want everybody to feel secure,” he stated. “This is the only way that the ordinary people will feel safe in casting their vote.”
During his visit, Lt. Gen. Galido also led the inauguration of newly constructed Battalion Commander’s Den buildings, joined by Major General Antonio G. Nafarrete, 6ID Commander and head of Joint Task Force Central. Rev. Fr. Clifford L. The 1st Mechanized Brigade received the CGPA Streamer Bayanihan Award for its significant impact in dismantling Guerilla Front Musa of the Far South Mindanao Regional (FSMR) Party Committee and combatting the Daulah Islamiyah-Maguid Group. The award was accepted by Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Andre B. Santos.
Additionally, the 6th Civil-Military Operations (Kasangga) Battalion was honored with two CGPA Streamer Kaunlaran Awards, acknowledging their successful program that transforms former violent extremists into advocates against extremism. Lt. Col. Roden R. Orbon, Battalion Commander, accepted these awards on behalf of his unit.
Individual achievements were also celebrated, with awards for Best Officer of the Year, Best Enlisted Personnel of the Year, and Best Human Resource of the Year presented to exemplary members of the division. The recognition event gathered Brigade Commanders, Battalion Commanders, and key officials of the 6ID, honoring personnel who contributed to the division’s vision of promoting peace, resilience, and sustainable development across Central Mindanao.
Lt. Gen. Galido’s call to action and the recognition of exceptional service reflect the 6ID’s ongoing commitment to ensuring stability and progress in the region as they prepare to secure the upcoming elections and uphold the democratic rights of the people.
