Zamboanga City, September 11, 2024 – Preparations for the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival in October are now in full swing. The festival committee, led by Executive Assistant IV Gio Perez and City Tourism Officer Sarita Hernandez-Sebastian, convened the second coordination security meeting on Tuesday at the City Hall Conference Room.
The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) will take the lead in ensuring the security of the festival, working in coordination with Joint Task Force Zamboanga, MBLT-1, the Philippine Coast Guard, the Bureau of Fire Protection, and other law enforcement units. The security details and deployment of troops have been mapped out, with only minor revisions needed before implementation during the grand “Opening Salvo” on September 28 at the Mayor Joaquin F. Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex, also known as the Grandstand, in Baliwasan.
The month-long festival will feature at least 54 events, with the grandest and most crowd-drawing activities including the Opening Salvo with Bandoreal parade, the Parade of Lights, the Street Dance Competition and Main Program, the Regatta and Wow Sardinas, the grand procession, and several others.
