Top 4 Most Wanted (Provincial Level) for Murder Arrested in Matanog

MATANOG, Maguindanao del Norte – Personnel of the Matanog Municipal Police Station successfully apprehended two individuals ranked as the Top 4 Most Wanted Persons (Provincial Level) during a checkpoint operation on September 24, 2024, in Poblacion, Barangay Bugasan Sur, Matanog.

The arrest was executed by tracker teams after the suspects were flagged down while riding a red/white Honda XRM 125 motorcycle, with plate number 7723-KU, at a checkpoint. Upon verification of their identities by the warrant officer, the suspects attempted to flee on foot, prompting law enforcement officers to apprehend them swiftly.

Both individuals had standing Warrants of Arrest under Criminal Case No. 2023-14126 for Violation of Article 248 (Murder), with no bail recommended, issued by the Presiding Judge of RTC 12, Branch 27, dated October 10, 2023. The suspects are also listed as the Top 3 Most Wanted (Municipal Level) and Top 4 Most Wanted (Provincial Level).

Following their arrest, the suspects were transported to Matanog MPS for proper documentation, booking, and processing before being transferred to the jurisdiction of the issuing court.

PBGEN Prexy D. Tangawohn, Regional Director of Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR), commended the Matanog police for their dedication and persistence. He emphasized that this significant arrest reflects the tireless efforts of local law enforcement in ensuring community safety and bringing dangerous fugitives to justice. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of coordinated police work and vigilance, reinforcing public trust in the police’s commitment to maintaining peace and order in the Bangsamoro region.
