Cotabato City – The recent Supreme Court ruling declaring the Province of Sulu as not part of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has sparked varied reactions among stakeholders. In response, the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), under the leadership of Founding Leader and Chairman Dr. Prof. Nur Misuari, has issued an official statement urging calm and patience.
The MNLF emphasized the importance of waiting for further updates and promised to release a comprehensive statement once accurate and sufficient information has been gathered. “We will release a statement once we have gathered accurate and sufficient information for dissemination,” the statement read.
The MNLF also invoked a verse from the Qur’an to encourage trust in divine wisdom: “Perhaps you dislike something which is good for you and like something which is bad for you. Allah knows and you do not know.” [2:216]
Ustadz Abdulkarim Tan Misuari, MNLF Vice-Chairman and Deputy Speaker of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament, reiterated the organization’s commitment to serving the Bangsamoro people and striving for peace, prosperity, and progress. “We will do our utmost to serve the Bangsamoro people and aspire for what is best to keep our commitments for the sake of peace, prosperity, and progress for all. Biidhnillah,” he stated.
The MNLF’s call for calm and patience comes as the Bangsamoro region navigates the implications of the Supreme Court’s decision, with leaders and communities seeking to uphold unity and progress amidst the challenges.
