Wao, Lanao del Sur – In a significant breakthrough against illegal drug activities, law enforcement authorities successfully conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay West Kilikili, Wao, Lanao del Sur, resulting in the arrest of a high-value individual and his cohort. The operation took place at approximately 12:55 PM on September 10, 2024.
PCOL Robert S. Daculan, Provincial Director of the Lanao del Sur Provincial Police Office (LDSPPO), commended the personnel from various units involved in the operation. The joint law enforcement effort included the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit 15 (PNP DEG SOU-15), Wao Municipal Police Station (MPS), Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit/Provincial Special Operations Group (PDEU/PSOG) of LDSPPO, 3rd Platoon of the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), and the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit of the Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (RDEU PRO BAR), in coordination with the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) and the Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU).
The operation led to the arrest of a high-value individual identified as alias “Kaway,” a resident of Barangay Raya Saduc, Marawi City, and his cohort, alias “Nor,” also a resident of the same area. During the operation, authorities confiscated two medium heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, weighing approximately 50 grams with an estimated street value of Php 340,000.00. Additionally, buy-bust money was seized.
The inventory and marking of the confiscated items were witnessed by a media representative from Radyo Kastigo News and a barangay official representative from West Kilikili, Wao. The seized illegal drugs were transported to the Regional Forensic Unit-BAR for qualitative and quantitative examination, while the arrested suspects were brought to Wao MPS for documentation and proper disposition.
PCOL Daculan praised the diligence and coordination of the operating units, emphasizing the importance of such operations in the ongoing fight against illegal drugs in the region. The successful operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to eradicate illegal drug activities and bring perpetrators to justice.
