ROCBDC XII Declares Three Barangays in Pikit, Cotabato as Drug-Cleared

Pikit, Cotabato Province – The Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing (ROCBDC) XII has declared three drug-affected barangays in Pikit, Cotabato as drug-cleared. The announcement was made during the 18th ROCBDC Meeting and Deliberation held on August 20, 2024, at G & L Rendezvous, Barangay Poblacion, Pikit.

The ROCBDC XII, chaired by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and composed of representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) RO XII, Philippine National Police (PNP) PRO XII, Department of Health (DOH) RO XII, and LGU Representative Hon. Sumulong K. Sultan, Municipal Mayor of Pikit, led the deliberations.

The meeting resulted in the following key outcomes:

  1. Declaration of Drug-Cleared Barangays: Barangays Inug-ug, Kalacacan, and Talitay in Pikit were declared drug-cleared.
  2. Retention of Drug-Cleared Status: Four previously drug-cleared barangays in Pikit—Damalasak, Kolambog, Paidu Pulangi, and Punol—retained their drug-cleared status.
  3. Verification of Drug-Free Status: Four barangays in Sarangani Province—Barangay Amsipit of Maasim, Barangays Kihan and Upper Suyan of Malapatan, and Barangay Gasi of Kiamba—were verified as drug-free.
  4. Notification of No Presence of Drug Personalities: Six barangays in Sultan Kudarat—Barangay Sabanal of Kalamansig, Barangays Nuling and Ragandang of Lebak, Barangays Molon and Datu Maguiales of Palimbang, and Barangay Buklod of Senator Ninoy Aquino—were informed of having no presence of drug personalities.

The Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) adopts a holistic and whole-of-nation approach to addressing the drug problem, involving the participation of local government units (LGUs), government agencies, and various stakeholders in the national anti-drug campaign.

This initiative underscores the commitment of ROCBDC XII and its partners to creating drug-free communities and ensuring the safety and well-being of residents in the region.
