Zamboanga Sibugay – April 9, 2025 — Four individuals identified as street-level drug personalities were arrested in a series of anti-drug operations conducted by the Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Police Office on April 8, 2025. The coordinated operations led to the confiscation of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia worth approximately PHP30,288.00.

The operations were carried out in separate locations across the province, specifically in Barangay Tambanan, Naga; Barangay Andres, Ipil; Barangay Poblacion, Imelda; and Barangay Looc Labuan, Tungawan.

The arrested suspects are now under the custody of their respective Municipal Police Stations. Meanwhile, the seized substances have been turned over to the Philippine Forensic Unit (PFU) for proper examination and documentation.

PCOL Barnard Danie V. Dasugo, Provincial Director of the Zamboanga Sibugay Police, reaffirmed their commitment to combating illegal drugs in the province.

“Our relentless campaign against illegal drugs in the province continues,” he said. “We are committed to rid our streets of drug peddlers and ensuring a safe and secure environment for our communities. We encourage our community partners to continue working with us to achieve this goal.”

Authorities said the recent operations form part of their intensified efforts under the Philippine National Police’s anti-drug strategy in line with Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police officials assured the public that similar operations will persist as part of the province’s ongoing efforts to maintain peace and order.
