Cagayan de Oro City – The Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) formally reactivated the Regional Joint Security and Control Center (RJSCC) on January 6, 2025, at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp 1Lt Vicente G. Alagar. The event marked the launch of preparations for the upcoming National and Local Elections set for May 12, 2025.

Atty. Renato A. Magbutay, Regional Election Director of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), led the reactivation ceremony alongside representatives from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Office 10 (PRO10), and the Philippine Coast Guard District Northern Mindanao (PCG 10).

Key officials present included PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of PRO10; MGEN Jose Maria R. Cuerpo III, Commander of the 4th Infantry Division, represented by Michele B. Anayron Jr., Commander of the 403rd Brigade; MGEN Gabriel C. Viray III, Commander of the 1st Infantry Division, represented by BGEN Anthon G. Abrina, Commander of the 2nd Mechanized Brigade; MGEN Allan D. Hambala, Commander of the 10th Infantry Division, represented by BGEN Marion T. Angcao, Commander of the 1003rd Brigade; and COMMO Vincent Bingbong Fiesta, District Commander of the Coast Guard District Northern Mindanao, represented by CDR Christie C. Cabuyaban, Deputy Commander of CGDNM.

The reactivation aims to ensure the conduct of free, secure, orderly, honest, and credible elections in Northern Mindanao. Discussions during the event centered on election security concerns, including the strategic deployment of security forces and other election-related matters.

PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman emphasized the PNP’s readiness to maintain safety and security throughout the election period. “PRO10, in partnership with our counterparts in the AFP and PCG, will remain steadfast in its mission to ensure free, orderly, honest, peaceful, and credible elections in Northern Mindanao,” he said.

The reactivation of the RJSCC complies with Section 7 of COMELEC Resolution No. 11067, promulgated on September 25, 2024. The initiative underscores the commitment of security agencies to work collaboratively in safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.
