A 38-year-old man was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Zamboanga del Sur, authorities reported.
The suspect, identified only by his alias “Liling,” is a resident of the municipality of Dimataling. He was apprehended during an anti-drug operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 9.
Recovered from the suspect were 10 large sachets, three small sachets, and one packet containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 100 grams. Authorities estimated the street value of the confiscated illegal drugs at around ₱680,000.
The seized evidence was immediately placed under police custody for proper documentation and laboratory examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
Following his arrest, the suspect was taken into the custody of PDEA pending the filing of charges for violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to intensifying anti-illegal drug operations across the region as part of the government’s continuing campaign against narcotics and other forms of criminality.
