Bumbaran, Lanao del Sur — May 4, 2026 — Two men from Bukidnon were shot dead in a robbery incident in the municipality of Amai Manabilang (Bumbaran), Lanao del Sur, on Monday, May 4.

Authorities and initial reports identified one of the victims as Roger Yumul, a collector, while his companion was a canvasser of cabinets and furniture. The two were reportedly conducting business rounds in the area, offering furniture products and seeking potential buyers within the municipality.

Investigations revealed that prior to the incident, the victims had been traveling around Bumbaran to market their goods. In what appears to be a robbery-motivated attack, unidentified perpetrators shot the victims and fled with approximately ₱5,000 in earnings collected from their sales.

Sources disclosed that the victims had taken a selfie in the area shortly before the fatal shooting occurred—an image that may now serve as a crucial piece of evidence in establishing their last known location and movements before the crime.

Local authorities have yet to identify the suspects and are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack, including possible motives and the identities of those responsible.

The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the victims’ families and communities. Messages of grief and condolences circulated online, with relatives and friends mourning the sudden loss. One post urged the public to share information that could help authorities, while expressing deep sorrow over the deaths, saying, “Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un,” an Islamic phrase signifying return to God.

The remains of Roger Yumul are currently at a residence in Basecamp, Maramag. His burial is scheduled for May 14, according to family members.

Police are calling on anyone with information related to the incident to come forward as efforts continue to bring justice to the victims.
