ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat — Authorities intensified their campaign against illegal drugs and loose firearms as operatives of the Police Regional Office 12 (PRO-12) successfully arrested a high-value drug suspect and seized more than ₱340,000 worth of suspected shabu during a search warrant operation on April 10, 2026.

The suspect, identified only as alias “Jerry,” 55, married, and a resident of Barangay Kalawag 2 in this town, was apprehended by joint elements led by the Isulan Municipal Police Station (MPS). He is classified as a High-Value Individual (HVI), a designation used by law enforcement agencies for key players in the illegal drug trade.

The operation was carried out in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 12 (PDEA-12) and the 1st Sultan Kudarat Provincial Mobile Force Company, highlighting a multi-agency approach in addressing persistent drug-related activities in the province.

Authorities implemented two search warrants during the operation—one for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and another for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Seized from the suspect were four heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, with an estimated total weight of 50 grams and a standard drug price of ₱340,000. Also recovered were a caliber .38 revolver, four live rounds of ammunition, and a brown coin purse.

The suspect is currently detained at the Isulan MPS custodial facility and is set to face charges for violations of the country’s anti-drug and firearms laws.

Police Brigadier General Arnold P. Ardiente, Regional Director of PRO-12, commended the operating units for the successful and coordinated execution of the mission, emphasizing the importance of sustained operations in curbing the proliferation of illegal drugs and unlicensed firearms.

“This accomplishment reflects our firm commitment to intensify law enforcement efforts and ensure the safety of our communities,” Ardiente said.

The arrest underscores ongoing efforts by authorities in Central Mindanao to dismantle drug networks and prevent the circulation of illegal firearms, both of which remain significant contributors to crime and insecurity in the region.
