BANGA, South Cotabato — A farmer was shot dead in a brazen daylight attack on Friday afternoon, March 27, 2026, in Barangay Rang-Ay, prompting an ongoing police investigation to identify the gunman and determine the motive behind the killing.

The victim was identified by the Banga Municipal Police Station as Melvin Lapitan Leguerto, an adult resident of Purok Quezon in the same barangay.
