MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon — Three siblings are now under police custody after they were arrested for allegedly forcibly entering a government-managed property in Barangay Dalwangan early morning on February 21, 2026.

Authorities identified the suspects only by their aliases Bon, Tam-tam, and Loloy, all adults and residents of Sitio Kibuwa, Barangay Impalutao in Impasug-ong, Bukidnon. They are currently detained at the Malaybalay City detention facility while authorities await the next course of action from the management of the National Beef Cattle Research and Development Center (NBCRDC).

According to police and barangay officials, the incident occurred at around 6:00 a.m. when the three siblings, along with an estimated group of more than 20 individuals, allegedly entered a parcel of land managed by the NBCRDC located at Lot 184, Purok 5, Barangay Dalwangan. Reports indicated that the group reportedly broke through the perimeter fence of the facility before setting up temporary shelters inside the property.

Authorities said the suspects were instructed to vacate the area after officials arrived at the site, but the group reportedly refused to comply with the order. Initial investigation also revealed that the individuals allegedly had no legal documents to support any claim or right to occupy the land.

Police further reported that the group was believed to have used intimidation during the incident, with some members allegedly carrying bolos (locally known as “lampas”) while confronting those managing the area. The presence of a large group reportedly heightened tensions during the standoff.

The property in question is under the management of the NBCRDC, a government-run facility dedicated to livestock research and development. Officials have yet to confirm whether formal charges will be filed against the arrested individuals as of this writing.

Local authorities are continuing to coordinate with the center’s management and other concerned agencies to determine the appropriate legal steps and to ensure order in the area. The incident has drawn attention to ongoing concerns over land disputes and unauthorized occupation of government properties in parts of Bukidnon.
