JOLO, Sulu – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Sulu Provincial Office, in coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Coast Guard, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), arrested three individuals in a successful buy-bust operation against a high-value target (HVT) in Barangay Bus-Bus, Jolo on September 21, 2025.
The operation, conducted at around 2:15 p.m., resulted in the confiscation of 75 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱510,000.00. Authorities also seized firearms, ammunition, mobile phones, a motorcycle, and the buy-bust money used in the operation.
Those arrested were identified as Alias “Ban,” 31, a farmer from Bonggao, Tawi-Tawi; Alias “Yahiya Mhin,” 44, a Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) member from Patikul, Sulu; and Alias “Tas,” 48, a driver also from Bonggao, Tawi-Tawi.
The suspects are now facing charges for violation of Section 5 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
