Authorities are now searching for former Smash Mixx News FM station manager Anthony Pascua Biala after the Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Surallah, South Cotabato issued a warrant of arrest against him over an alleged rape by sexual assault case.

Biala, a resident of Barangay Palumbi in Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat, previously served as station manager of Smash Mixx News FM in Sto. Niño, South Cotabato.
The warrant of arrest was issued and signed by Hon. Judge Vicente Andiano of the RTC in Surallah, directing law enforcement authorities to arrest the accused and bring him before the court for proper legal proceedings.
According to information obtained by local authorities, Biala is facing charges for rape by sexual assault, a serious criminal offense under Philippine law.
Authorities said efforts to locate the suspect are ongoing after reports surfaced that he is currently believed to be in Manila while allegedly waiting for the processing of a visa for possible travel abroad.
Because of this, calls have been made for the Bureau of Immigration and the Department of Foreign Affairs to remain vigilant and coordinate with law enforcement agencies to prevent the suspect from leaving the country while the search and legal proceedings are underway.
Law enforcement agencies have yet to confirm Biala’s exact whereabouts, but tracking and coordination operations are reportedly continuing.
As of this writing, no official statement has been released by Biala or his camp regarding the allegations and the warrant issued against him.
Authorities likewise reminded the public that despite the issuance of the arrest warrant, the accused remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt by the court.
The case has drawn public attention in parts of South Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat due to Biala’s previous role in local broadcasting.
