MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon — Authorities arrested a 31-year-old woman for allegedly offering illegal dental services through online platforms, in a targeted entrapment operation conducted on March 21, 2026, police reported.

The suspect, identified only by her alias “Jessie,” now faces charges for violating the Philippine Dental Act of 2007 (RA 9484) in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (RA 10175).
Operatives from the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group Bukidnon Provincial Cyber Response Team (PCRT) carried out the operation at around 5:11 p.m. in Malaybalay City, following reports that the suspect had been advertising dental procedures online despite lacking the necessary professional license.
Initial investigation revealed that “Jessie” had been actively promoting unauthorized dental services via digital platforms, potentially exposing unsuspecting clients to serious health risks. Authorities stressed that dental procedures performed by unqualified individuals can lead to infections, permanent damage, and other life-threatening complications.
The suspect is now under police custody pending inquest proceedings and the formal filing of charges.
The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) reiterated its warning to the public to exercise extreme caution when availing services online. It urged individuals to verify the credentials and licenses of practitioners before undergoing any medical or dental procedures.
“This case highlights the growing misuse of online platforms for illegal professional practices,” the ACG said, emphasizing that stricter monitoring and public vigilance are key to preventing similar incidents.
Authorities also encouraged victims or individuals who may have transacted with unlicensed practitioners to come forward and report to the nearest police station, as part of broader efforts to safeguard public health and enforce professional standards in the digital space.
