Isabela City, Basilan — Authorities arrested a male suspect and seized more than P200,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs in a successful joint buy-bust operation conducted Tuesday evening, April 21, as part of the government’s intensified campaign against narcotics.

Operatives from the Isabela City Police Station, in coordination with the 6th Special Forces Battalion, carried out the operation at around 6:05 p.m., leading to the apprehension of the suspect and the confiscation of ten heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu.
Authorities said the seized illegal substance weighed approximately 30 grams, with an estimated standard drug price of P204,000.
PLTCOL Wilfredo P. Palamos Jr., Chief of Police of the Isabela City Police Station, commended the operating teams for the successful conduct of the operation, highlighting the importance of sustained and coordinated anti-drug efforts.
“The ICPS will intensify its operations and sustain strong coordination with partner agencies to ensure that all responsible individuals will be brought to justice. We will remain steadfast in our efforts to maintain the safety and security of our communities,” Palamos said.
The suspect is now under police custody and is expected to face charges for violation of the Republic Act No. 9165.
Police authorities reiterated their commitment to the national anti-drug campaign, emphasizing a service anchored on the principle of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman,” aimed at delivering responsive and trustworthy law enforcement to the public.
The operation underscores continued efforts by law enforcement agencies to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs and ensure safer communities across Basilan.
