The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has forecast generally unsettled weather conditions across Mindanao as easterlies continue to affect the region, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms.

In its latest regional weather bulletin issued at 5:00 a.m. Friday, PAGASA said the prevailing easterlies—warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean—will influence weather patterns throughout Mindanao until early Saturday morning.
While much of the island will experience fair weather for most of the day, localized thunderstorms are expected, particularly in the afternoon and evening. Authorities warned that these thunderstorms may trigger flash floods and landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas.
Zamboanga Peninsula and Northern Mindanao
Across the Zamboanga Peninsula, including Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City, residents can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with intermittent rainshowers or thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from 22°C to 34°C.
Similar weather conditions will prevail in Northern Mindanao provinces such as Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental. Temperatures may dip as low as 18°C in Bukidnon and reach up to 34°C in some areas.
Davao Region and SOCCSKSARGEN
In the Davao Region, including Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental, the same weather pattern is expected, with temperatures ranging between 22°C and 35°C.
Provinces under SOCCSKSARGEN—North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani—will also experience isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms, with daytime temperatures climbing up to 35°C.
Caraga and BARMM Areas
Caraga Region provinces such as Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands will see similar weather conditions, with occasional thunderstorms posing risks of localized flooding.
Meanwhile, in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), including Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Maguindanao provinces, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rainshowers will persist. Temperatures across these areas will range from 21°C to 35°C.
Winds and Coastal Conditions
Winds across Mindanao will be light to moderate, blowing from the northeast to east. Coastal waters are expected to remain slight to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 1.5 meters, making sea travel generally manageable but still requiring caution during thunderstorms.
Public Advisory
PAGASA advised residents to remain vigilant, particularly during thunderstorms, due to the risk of sudden heavy rainfall that may lead to flooding or landslides. Fisherfolk and small seacraft operators are also urged to monitor weather updates before heading out to sea.
Despite generally fair conditions in the morning, weather authorities emphasized that localized storms may develop rapidly, underscoring the need for continued preparedness across Mindanao.
