DAVAO CITY — A 41-year-old woman was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by police on the evening of April 1, 2026, leading to the confiscation of suspected shabu valued at ₱417,452.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Madam,” a native of Purok 2, Barangay Tagabebe in Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental, was apprehended at around 7:08 p.m. inside Room 1 of Casas Boarding House located along Santiago Street, Purok 7, Barangay Indangan, Davao City.

The operation was carried out by the combined forces of the Davao City Police Office, as part of its intensified campaign against illegal drugs.

Authorities reported that aside from the suspected shabu, they also recovered ₱1,000 in genuine currency used in the transaction, along with boodle money utilized as buy-bust funds, and a brown shoulder bag believed to have been used by the suspect to store the illegal substances.

Police said that all pieces of evidence were properly inventoried at the scene of the operation in the presence of the suspect and required witnesses, in accordance with standard legal procedures to ensure the integrity of the seized items.

The arrest of “Madam” highlights the continued efforts of law enforcement agencies to curb the illegal drug trade in Davao City, which remains a key concern for authorities despite sustained operations.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against the suspect.

Authorities reiterated their call for public cooperation, emphasizing that community vigilance remains crucial in the ongoing fight against illegal drugs.
