CABANGLASAN, Bukidnon — A 55-year-old man was killed while a woman was injured after a stabbing incident triggered by alleged jealousy late Wednesday night, March 25, 2026, in Purok 3, Barangay Poblacion.

Police identified the fatality as alias “Robin,” a married resident of the area, while the injured victim was identified as alias “Anna,” 45, the wife of the suspect. The suspect, identified only as alias “Cardo,” 55, a government employee, is now under police custody after voluntarily surrendering.
According to initial reports from the Cabanglasan Municipal Police Station, the incident occurred shortly before midnight following a drinking session between the suspect and his wife inside their home. The couple reportedly got into a heated argument, prompting the suspect to leave the house in an attempt to defuse the situation.
However, tensions escalated when the suspect returned and allegedly found his wife conversing with the male victim, whom he suspected of having an illicit relationship with her.
Fueled by jealousy, the suspect reportedly chased the victim as he attempted to flee toward his residence. Armed with a knife, the suspect caught up with the victim and stabbed him multiple times.
Police said the victim sustained at least two stab wounds, including injuries to the head and a fatal wound to the chest. He was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival at around 1:03 a.m. on March 26.
The suspect’s wife, who reportedly tried to intervene and prevent further violence, suffered injuries to her hand after being accidentally struck by the knife during the attack.
Investigators revealed that prior tensions and personal grudges rooted in jealousy may have contributed to the violent confrontation.
The suspect later surrendered to responding police officers and is currently detained at the Cabanglasan Municipal Police Station. Authorities are preparing appropriate charges against him, likely in connection with homicide and physical injuries.
The incident underscores the deadly consequences of unresolved domestic conflicts and highlights the dangers of violence fueled by jealousy and suspicion.
