INITAO, Misamis Oriental — A high-value drug suspect was arrested in a coordinated anti-drug operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 10, resulting in the seizure of illegal drugs worth over ₱100,000 on Friday afternoon.

The joint buy-bust operation was carried out by the PDEA Regional Special Enforcement Team (Alpha) and the PDEA Misamis Oriental Interdiction Unit, in close coordination with the Philippine National Police Initao Municipal Police Station. The operation formed part of intensified efforts under Oplan “One Piece,” a strategy aimed at dismantling drug networks through intelligence-driven enforcement.
Authorities conducted the operation at around 1:00 p.m. in Purok 2, Barangay Pontacon, where they successfully apprehended the suspect identified only by the alias “Jun,” a 40-year-old single male and resident of Zone 2, Patag, Manticao, Misamis Oriental.
According to PDEA Regional Director Alex M. Tablate, the suspect was classified as a regional target-listed personality and was identified through the agency’s innovative citizen-reporting platform, “Isumbong Mo sa PDEA.” The platform enables the public to provide information on suspected drug personalities, strengthening community participation in the government’s anti-drug campaign.
Seized during the operation were six sachets of suspected shabu of varying sizes, weighing approximately 15 grams with an estimated street value of ₱102,000. Also confiscated were a multi-colored coin purse believed to be used in drug transactions and the marked buy-bust money used by operatives.
The suspect is now under the custody of authorities and is set to face charges for violations of Sections 5 (sale of illegal drugs) and 11 (possession of illegal drugs) under Republic Act 9165.
PDEA officials reiterated their call for continued public cooperation, emphasizing that community vigilance remains a critical factor in curbing the illegal drug trade across the region.
