MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon — Authorities are investigating the death of a 78-year-old man whose lifeless body was discovered in a forested area in Barangay Silae on March 24, 2026, under circumstances that suggest possible foul play.
According to police reports, the victim had earlier left home to gather firewood in the nearby mountainous area but failed to return, prompting concern from his wife. When he remained missing, his wife alerted authorities, leading to a search that eventually resulted in the grim discovery of his body.
Initial examination revealed that the elderly man sustained two visible wounds believed to have been inflicted by a still unidentified sharp object.
