DAVAO CITY — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has forecast generally fair but unstable weather conditions across Mindanao, with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms expected to persist from Wednesday morning through early Thursday.

In its 5:00 a.m. regional weather bulletin for the Mindanao Regional Services Division (MINPRSD), PAGASA said the easterlies—warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean—will continue to affect the entire island, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies and sporadic rainfall.
While much of the day may remain dry, weather disturbances could intensify into thunderstorms, posing risks of flash floods and landslides, particularly in low-lying and mountainous areas.
Zamboanga Peninsula: Intermittent Rains, Moderate Temperatures
Across the Zamboanga Peninsula, including Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City, residents can expect a mix of sunshine and cloud cover with chances of rainshowers and thunderstorms.
Temperatures are forecast to range between 23°C and 34°C, with light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to north. Coastal waters will remain slight to moderate, making sea travel generally manageable but still requiring caution during sudden weather changes.
Northern Mindanao: Cooler Highlands, Rain Threat Persists
In Northern Mindanao, including Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental, similar weather patterns will prevail.
Bukidnon will experience cooler conditions, with temperatures dipping as low as 17°C, while coastal provinces will see highs of up to 32°C. Winds will remain light to moderate, except in Camiguin where moderate winds and seas are expected.
Authorities warned that thunderstorms could develop rapidly, especially in inland and elevated areas.
Davao Region: Warmer Conditions, Moderate Winds
The Davao Region, including Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, and Davao Oriental, will experience slightly warmer temperatures ranging from 23°C to 34°C.
Moderate winds from the northeast to north will dominate, accompanied by moderate sea conditions. Rainshowers and thunderstorms may occur at intervals, particularly in the afternoon or evening.
Davao de Oro and Davao Occidental will also experience similar weather conditions, with occasional downpours expected.
SOCCSKSARGEN and Caraga: Continued Thunderstorm Risks
In SOCCSKSARGEN, including North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani, residents should prepare for intermittent rains and possible thunderstorms.
Temperatures will range from 23°C to 34°C, with light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
Meanwhile, the Caraga Region—covering Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands—will experience moderate winds and seas, with similar weather disturbances expected throughout the forecast period.
BARMM Areas: Slight to Moderate Seas, Isolated Rains
In the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), including Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and the provinces of Maguindanao del Norte and Sur, partly cloudy to cloudy skies will persist.
Temperatures will range from 20°C in upland areas to as high as 34°C. Winds will remain light to moderate, with slight to moderate sea conditions.
Advisory: Stay Alert During Thunderstorms
PAGASA emphasized that while widespread heavy rainfall is not expected, localized thunderstorms could still trigger flash floods and landslides.
Residents are advised to remain vigilant, especially during sudden downpours, and to monitor official weather updates. Fisherfolk and small vessel operators are also urged to exercise caution, particularly when thunderstorms develop over coastal waters.
The weather bureau continues to monitor the easterlies and other atmospheric conditions that may affect Mindanao in the coming days.
