ZAMBOANGA CITY – Authorities are investigating a reported shooting incident that occurred at around 10:22 a.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026, in Phase 1, Asinan, Kasanyangan, this city.

Personnel of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) immediately responded to the area after receiving a call regarding the incident.
According to initial reports, operatives from Police Station 12 discovered upon arrival that the victim, who sustained a gunshot wound, had already fled the scene and ran toward Timpura, Asinan, Phase 1. As of this writing, authorities have yet to determine the identity of the victim, and his condition remains unknown.
The suspect was identified only by the alias “Pulalon.” Based on witness descriptions, the suspect was allegedly wearing a white t-shirt and long pants at the time of the shooting. After the incident, he reportedly fled toward the inner portion of Phase 1.
In response, police coordinated with nearby stations and operating units to conduct a dragnet operation aimed at the immediate apprehension of the suspect. Checkpoints and follow-up operations are ongoing as part of intensified efforts to track down the gunman.
Authorities said a comprehensive spot report is expected to be released in the coming hours as the investigation continues. Police are also appealing to residents who may have witnessed the incident or possess relevant information to come forward and assist in the case.
The motive behind the shooting has yet to be established.
