BALOI, LANAO DEL NORTE — Authorities arrested a street-level individual (SLI) and confiscated more than PHP 340,000 worth of suspected shabu in a coordinated anti-drug operation conducted on January 23, 2026.

The buy-bust operation took place at around 4:40 PM in Purok-3, Barangay Nangka, Baloi. The operation was jointly carried out by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and the Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (LDNPPO), in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) LDNPPO, Baloi Municipal Police Station (BMPS), the 1005th Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10 (RMFB-10), and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA10) under Pre-Operation No. 11-00-01232026-041.

The suspect, identified only by his alias “Jun2x,” a 23-year-old jobless male from Purok-9, Maria Cristina, Baloi, was apprehended after selling a sachet of suspected shabu worth PHP 500 to an undercover police officer. The sachet weighed approximately 0.60 gram and had a Standard Drug Price (SDP) value of PHP 4,080.

A body search following the arrest yielded additional evidence, including a large heat-sealed plastic sachet containing 50 grams of suspected shabu with an SDP value of PHP 340,000, a black pouch, and a marked PHP 500 bill used in the buy-bust transaction. In total, authorities confiscated approximately 50.60 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated SDP value of PHP 344,080.

The seized items were carefully marked, tagged, and inventoried in an orderly manner, witnessed by the suspect, a local barangay official, and a media representative. The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights in a dialect he understands.

Authorities are preparing appropriate charges against “Jun2x” for violation of Sections 11 and 12, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The suspect remains under the custody of Baloi MPS pending documentation and further disposition, while the confiscated drugs have been turned over to the Iligan City Police Forensic Unit for quantitative and qualitative examination.

Acting Provincial Director PCOL Leo De Leon Sua commended the joint operating units for their successful effort, highlighting the continued commitment of law enforcement agencies in Lanao del Norte to combat illegal drugs at the street level.
