PANDAG, MAGUINDANAO DEL SUR — A man narrowly escaped death after being ambushed by motorcycle-riding gunmen along a dimly lit stretch of Sitio Talingco, Barangay Kayaga, on Monday night, December 8, 2025.
Police identified the victim as Ahmed A. Sangkigay, a resident of Datu Paglas, Maguindanao del Sur.
According to initial reports from PNP-BARMM and the Pandag Municipal Police Station, Sangkigay was driving his blackish-red Toyota Vios (plate number MBD 9084) toward Datu Paglas at around 8:00 p.m. when unidentified assailants riding a single motorcycle began tailing his vehicle.
Upon reaching Sitio Talingco, the suspects opened fire multiple times, hitting the right side of Sangkigay’s vehicle. Despite the close-range attack, the victim miraculously escaped unscathed.
Investigators recovered eight fired cartridge cases of an unidentified caliber at the crime scene.
The suspects fled toward an unknown direction after the shooting.
Police have launched a deeper investigation into the incident, including the possible motives behind the ambush and the identities of the gunmen.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as the case continues to develop.
