Baroy, Lanao del Norte — December 17, 2025 — Among the six symbolic 100-millionth babies in Northern Mindanao, Angelique Eunice Obial of Baroy stands out as Lanao del Norte’s sole representative. Now 11 years old, Angelique was born at midnight on July 27, 2014, and has been part of a milestone initiative that highlights the region’s population growth.

In recognition of her symbolic status, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte recently provided Angelique with educational assistance to support her ongoing schooling. Since her birth, the Provincial Population Office (POPCOM) has closely monitored her development, ensuring sustained access to healthcare, education, and essential services.

Provincial Administrator Lyndon Calica expressed hope that Angelique’s recognition would inspire more than just celebration. He said her journey could serve as a model of good values, discipline, and responsible growth for other children in the province.
“Looking forward in the future, she will be an example of what a good child she is with the guidance of her parents,” Calica noted.

He also highlighted growing challenges faced by today’s youth, including distractions that divert attention from personal and academic development. “I hope that here in Lanao del Norte, we will be able to bring back the enthusiasm of children,” he added.

The Provincial Government reaffirmed its commitment to programs that protect, nurture, and empower children, emphasizing that consistent guidance, access to essential services, and educational support are crucial in developing well-rounded and responsible young citizens.

Angelique’s story represents more than a symbolic milestone—it reflects the province’s ongoing dedication to fostering the next generation of learners and leaders in Lanao del Norte.
