CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City — Three members of the Sub-Regional Committee 1 (SRC1) of the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC) abandoned the underground movement and voluntarily surrendered to authorities following a coordinated operation in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, on November 24, 2025.

The joint effort of the 1004th Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10 and the 1st Special Forces Battalion led to the peaceful surrender of key Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) personalities identified as alias “Reboy/Baren,” 40, the 2nd Deputy Secretary of SRC1; his wife alias “Angelyn/Banjie,” 30, Supply Officer of the Sub-Regional Operations Command (SROC); and alias “Yonji,” 22, a medic under SROC.

All three are residents of Misamis Oriental and were included in the Periodic Status Report (PSR) for their involvement in CTG operations. According to authorities, the individuals admitted that years of constant displacement, hunger, and fear finally pushed them to leave the armed struggle and return to the government’s fold.

They were immediately transported to the Headquarters of the 1st Special Forces Battalion in Barangay Mampayag, Manolo Fortich, for custodial debriefing, documentation, and further processing.

PBGEN Christopher N. Abrahano, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 10, lauded the operating units for their effective coordination that resulted in the “peaceful reintegration” of the former rebels.

“We recognize the relentless commitment of our police personnel, the AFP, and partner agencies in persuading these individuals to return to the folds of law. PRO10 remains steadfast in advancing lasting peace and security in Northern Mindanao through lawful and collaborative efforts,” Abrahano said.

Authorities said the surrender is another indication of weakening CTG influence in the region as intensified police and military operations continue to pressure remaining members to yield peacefully.
