STO. NIÑO, SOUTH COTABATO — Seven minors were apprehended by local police after being caught engaging in illegal drag racing along Purok Pinetree, Barangay M. Roxas, Sto. Niño, South Cotabato.

According to the Sto. Niño Municipal Police Station, the minors were caught in the act of conducting the unlawful street race, prompting authorities to immediately intervene. Six motorcycles used in the actual drag racing were confiscated at the scene.

Police said the reckless activity not only violated local ordinances but also posed serious risks to the participants and the community. “We remind the public that drag racing is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated in Sto. Niño,” a police representative emphasized.

The apprehended minors, along with their parents, were referred to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) for counseling. The session aimed to help them understand the importance of obeying laws and local ordinances, as well as the dangers associated with illegal drag racing.

Authorities warned that stricter enforcement measures will continue to be implemented to maintain public safety and order in the municipality.
