DAVAO CITY — Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation–Southeastern Mindanao Regional Office (NBI-SEMRO) have arrested a man accused of raping his own four-year-old daughter in Barangay 76-A Bucana.
The suspect, identified as alias “King,” was taken into custody around 3:30 p.m. on October 7, 2025, after a warrant of arrest was issued for Qualified Rape of a Minor. The child’s mother, alias “Princess,” sought help from the NBI after her daughter reportedly confided about the assault.
According to NBI-SEMRO Agent Vicente Essex Minguez, the suspect faces charges under Republic Act 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997) in relation to RA 11648, which provides stronger penalties for sexual abuse involving minors. The offense is non-bailable.
Investigators said the mother brought her daughter for medical examination after the child complained of pain. Initial tests at the Southern Philippines Medical Center on October 1 reportedly showed no signs of abuse, but a subsequent medico-legal examination by the NBI on October 6 confirmed signs of penetration, bolstering the rape case.
The father has denied the allegations, claiming he was being framed and that the accusations were fabricated to have him jailed.
Agent Minguez urged victims and families not to hesitate in reporting sexual or domestic abuse, assuring that the bureau treats such cases with urgency and seriousness.
The suspect is now under NBI custody while the case proceeds in court.
