HAGONOY, Davao del Sur – A 43-year-old farmer was killed after being stabbed by his own brother during a drinking session on the evening of October 19, 2025, in Barangay Hagonoy Crossing, Hagonoy, Davao del Sur.

Police identified the victim as alias “Jess,” 43, while the suspect was identified as alias “Endoy,” 53, both farmers and residents of the said barangay.

According to Police Major Aizzel Alvarez, chief of the Hagonoy Municipal Police Station, the brothers were intoxicated when a heated argument broke out for an unknown reason. In a fit of rage, the older brother, “Endoy,” reportedly grabbed a knife and stabbed “Jess” multiple times, causing his death.

Police immediately responded to the incident, leading to the quick arrest of the suspect who is now detained at the Hagonoy Municipal Police Station. He is set to face charges of parricide.

Authorities remind the public that excessive alcohol consumption often leads to violence and tragedy within families. The incident serves as another grim example of how moments of intoxication can destroy lives and relationships in an instant.
