GENERAL SANTOS CITY — What began as a public disturbance ended in a drug bust after police seized ₱272,000 worth of suspected shabu from two men arrested in Barangay Katangawan, General Santos City, on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

According to the report, personnel from Police Station 8 of the General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO) responded to a call from a concerned citizen about an altercation between two men beside the road. Upon arrival, officers found the suspects—identified only as alias “Dran,” 25, a resident of Barangay San Isidro, and alias “Bradie,” 18, from Barangay Fatima—engaged in a heated argument that alarmed nearby residents.

Authorities attempted to pacify the confrontation, but the suspects reportedly became unruly, pushing one of the officers and shouting offensive words. Police then placed both under arrest for causing public disturbance and disobedience.

During the body search, police recovered two brown pouches containing a total of eight heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 40 grams. The confiscated drugs have an estimated value of ₱272,000 based on the National Standard Drug Price.

The suspects and the seized evidence were brought to Police Station 8 for documentation and proper disposition.

“This successful operation is a clear manifestation of our police force’s vigilance and quick response to community concerns,” said PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente, Regional Director of PRO 12. “PRO 12 remains committed to our campaign against illegal drugs and other criminal activities to ensure a safe and peaceful SOCCSKSARGEN.”

Authorities are preparing to file appropriate charges against the suspects for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and other related offenses.
