CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – A woman was forced to seek police assistance after she was violently assaulted by her husband during a domestic dispute at their residence.
The victim, identified only as Ann, said she merely shook and tapped her husband to wake him up so he could buy food for the family. Instead of reacting calmly, he reportedly lashed out, punching her in the face and even slamming a bicycle against her.
The brutal attack left Ann with multiple bruises, bleeding wounds, and visible injuries on her face. Police investigators learned that this was not the first time she had suffered abuse, as the husband had allegedly harmed her on several previous occasions.
Despite the repeated violence, Ann said she no longer wants to pursue a criminal case. Instead, she appealed for help to secure her children and ensure they can live safely away from abuse.
Authorities have assured Ann of protection and assistance under existing domestic abuse protocols, stressing that cases of violence against women and children will continue to be closely monitored in the city.
