DAVAO CITY — A 40-year-old man is now facing frustrated homicide charges after stabbing the current live-in partner of his former lover in Barangay Sasa, Sunday night, September 21, 2025.
Police identified the victim as “Al,” 40, a resident of Sto. Rosario, Km. 12, Sasa, while the suspect was named as “Rey,” 40, a resident of Mabini, Davao de Oro.
Based on the initial police investigation, Al and his live-in partner “Mia” — Rey’s former companion — were visiting Mia’s mother in Landmark 1, Km. 12. The couple stepped out to buy food when they noticed Rey recording a video of them.
The victim confronted the suspect, which escalated into a heated argument. During the confrontation, Rey allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Al twice in the shoulders before fleeing in an unknown direction.
Al was rushed to the Southern Philippines Medical Center for treatment, while police have launched a manhunt operation against Rey, who is now facing charges of frustrated homicide.
