Upi, Maguindanao del Norte — A police operation led by the Police Regional Office–Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) on September 19, 2025, in Barangay Kabakaba, Upi, resulted in the arrest of eight individuals and the seizure of six illegal firearms.
The operation, carried out under a valid court order, faced resistance from the suspects, identified only by their aliases: “Joven,” “Danny,” “Freddie,” “Danilo,” “Richie,” “Riche,” “Reymark,” “Jimmie,” and “Carlito.”
Authorities confiscated three shotguns, one Garand rifle, and two caliber .45 pistols. The recovered firearms are now under the custody of the Upi Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.
PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of PRO-BAR, commended the operatives for their successful operation and underscored the agency’s continuing campaign against loose firearms. He reaffirmed PRO-BAR’s commitment to strengthening peace and security in communities across the Bangsamoro region.
