Wao, Lanao del Sur — Authorities arrested a suspected member of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) for allegedly selling more than P3.1 million worth of shabu during an entrapment operation in Barangay Buntongan, Wao, on Monday, August 18, 2025.
The suspect, identified as Jamil Saripada, also known as “Mads,” 34, a farmer and resident of Barangay East Kilikili, was caught in a buy-bust operation staged by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) of the Police Regional Office–Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR), in coordination with the Wao Municipal Police Station.
Police reports said Saripada sold four large sachets of suspected shabu weighing 460 grams to an undercover agent posing as a buyer. The seized drugs were valued at P3,128,000.
Recovered from Saripada was an identification card indicating his alleged membership in the 103rd Base Command of the MILF.
Brig. Gen. Jaysen De Guzman, PRO-BAR director, said the successful operation was carried out with the support of Wao municipal officials and members of the Lanao del Sur Provincial Peace and Order Council.
The suspect is now detained at the Wao Municipal Police Station and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
