CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, July 23, 2025 — In a major breakthrough in the region’s campaign against illegal drugs, authorities from the Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) successfully arrested two drug suspects in separate anti-drug operations conducted in Misamis Oriental and Cagayan de Oro City.
On July 21, operatives from the El Salvador City Police Station, under the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office, implemented a search warrant in Barangay Molugan, El Salvador City, resulting in the arrest of a high-value individual (HVI) identified as alias “Uno.” The suspect, a resident of the area, was apprehended for the third time on drug-related charges, having been previously arrested in 2015 and 2020.
Police seized approximately 140 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱952,000.00, along with 11 assorted live ammunition and several pieces of drug paraphernalia. The operation was carried out under Search Warrant No. SWA-071425-834.
Charges are being prepared against the suspect for violations of Sections 11 and 12, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
Meanwhile, on July 22, a separate operation by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 10 (RPDEU 10) led to the arrest of another drug suspect in Canitoan, Cagayan de Oro City. The suspect, identified as alias “Jan-Jan,” 28, single, and unemployed, is a resident of Barangay Balulang.
He was caught during a buy-bust operation and yielded approximately 110 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱748,000.00, along with a belt bag, a motorcycle, and two marked ₱1,000 bills used as buy-bust money.
“Uno” is now under the custody of the El Salvador City Police Station, while “Jan-Jan” is detained at the Maharlika Detention Cell under the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) for proper disposition.
PRO10 Regional Director PBGEN Rolindo M. Suguilon lauded the involved operatives for their commitment and diligence in the ongoing anti-illegal drug campaign.
“These successful operations demonstrate our unwavering determination to cleanse our communities of the menace of illegal drugs. We will continue to pursue and hold accountable those who choose to engage in this criminal activity,” Suguilon said in a statement.
Authorities assured the public that intensified efforts are ongoing to dismantle drug networks and ensure peace and safety across Northern Mindanao.
