Mindanao, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued its regional weather forecast for Mindanao on June 24, 2025, warning residents of scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms across several provinces due to the Southwest Monsoon and a nearby Low Pressure Area (LPA).

As of 3:00 AM, the LPA was located approximately 210 kilometers west southwest of Cubi Point, Subic Bay International Airport or 290 kilometers west of Ambulong, Tanauan City, Batangas. While the LPA itself remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), its influence is enhancing the southwest monsoon, bringing inclement weather particularly over the Zamboanga Peninsula and other parts of Mindanao.

Zamboanga Peninsula

  • Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City are all forecasted to experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the day and night. Light to moderate winds from the southwest to south will prevail, with coastal waters expected to remain slight to moderate. Daytime temperatures range from 23°C to 34°C.

Northern Mindanao

  • Provinces including Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Winds will be light to moderate with temperatures between 20°C and 32°C.

SOCCSKSARGEN

  • North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani are likewise under a similar forecast of partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Winds will be light to moderate with temperature highs of up to 32°C.

Caraga Region

  • The provinces of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands will experience partly cloudy skies turning cloudy at times with scattered rainshowers or thunderstorms, brought about by the monsoon. Maximum temperatures will reach up to 31°C.

Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM)

  • Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi are all expected to have partly cloudy skies with periods of rainshowers or thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening. Winds remain light to moderate, and seas are forecasted to be slight to moderate, with temperatures ranging from 21°C to 33°C.
