Marantao, Lanao del Sur — In a unified show of commitment to ensure clean and violence-free elections, political candidates in Marantao signed a Peace Covenant on April 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The covenant signing was witnessed by PCOL Robert S. Daculan, Provincial Director of the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LDSPPO), along with other key officials and stakeholders.

The ceremony, held as part of a joint initiative by the Commission on Elections – Lanao del Sur, the LDSPPO, and the 103rd Infantry (Haribon) Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Philippine Army, underscores the shared goal of fostering Honest, Orderly, and Peaceful Elections (HOPE) in the province.

Representatives from the military and local government were also present to show their support for electoral integrity and non-violence. Among the witnesses were COL Ian Noel P. Ignes, Deputy Brigade Commander of the 103rd Infantry Brigade, representing BGEN Billy O. Dela Rosa, Commander of the 103rd Infantry Brigade; LTCOL Jeremy D. Damonsong, Commanding Officer of the 44th Infantry Battalion, PA; Municipal Election Officer Sainolah Omar; Salahuden M. Lucman, MILGOO; Sarma M. Alonto, Municipal Accountant; Hon. Mastura D. Disomala, Liga ng mga Barangay Vice President; and Miralinda D. Gote, MBHTE Marantao, BOC Member Secretary.

The Peace Covenant Signing marks a crucial step in promoting a culture of respect, accountability, and transparency as the province prepares for the upcoming 2025 elections.
