Datu Montawal, Maguindanao del Sur – The son of a Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces-Moro Islamic Liberation Front (BIAF-MILF) Brigade Commander was wounded in a shooting incident along the national highway in Barangay Tunggol, Datu Montawal, Maguindanao del Sur at dusk.
The victim, identified as Mamalingking “Malic” Dandua, a resident of Barangay Kilangan, Pagalungan, sustained two gunshot wounds after being ambushed by unidentified assailants. Malic is the son of BIAF-MILF Brigade Commander Salungga Dandua.
According to his uncle, Commander Ikot Dandua, Malic was traveling along the highway from Pikit on his red Honda Beat 125 motorcycle when he was suddenly approached by a motorcycle-riding tandem. The assailants then fired multiple shots at him before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.
Recovered from the crime scene were empty shells from a .45 caliber pistol, suggesting the type of firearm used in the attack.
Emergency responders quickly arrived and rushed Malic to a nearby medical facility for immediate treatment.
Meanwhile, the Datu Montawal Municipal Police Station has launched an investigation into the shooting to determine the motive and identify the suspects behind the attack.
