Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat — On January 26, 2025, at approximately 4:30 PM, a joint operation by the 1202nd and 1204th Mobile Companies of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 12 (RMFB 12), together with personnel from Bagumbayan Municipal Police Station (MPS) and the Sultan Kudarat Police Provincial Office (SKPPO), successfully facilitated the voluntary surrender of two former members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG). The operation, conducted under OPLAN “TOM,” was carried out in Bai Sarifinang, Bagumbayan, under the overall supervision of Police Lieutenant Colonel Argel N. Ancheta, Officer-in-Charge of RMFB 12.

During the surrender, the individuals turned over subversive documents, an unregistered .45 caliber handgun, one magazine, and five rounds of live ammunition. The operation marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to encourage CTG members to renounce violence and reintegrate into society.

Authorities expressed hope that the decision of these two individuals will inspire others still involved in insurgent activities to follow suit. “Through the support of the government, those who choose to return to the folds of the law can reunite with their families and embark on a peaceful and productive life,” a police representative said.

The government, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, continues to strengthen initiatives aimed at supporting former insurgents. Rehabilitation programs and livelihood opportunities await those who decide to abandon the armed struggle, ensuring their successful reintegration into their communities.

This development underscores the government’s commitment to achieving lasting peace in the region through strategic operations and comprehensive support for surrendering individuals. The peaceful surrender of these two former CTG members serves as a reminder of the potential for resolution and unity in addressing long-standing conflicts.
