Camp Alagar, Cagayan de Oro City — In a significant breakthrough against illegal drugs, Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) apprehended three high-value suspects and confiscated approximately 235 grams of suspected shabu valued at an estimated PhP1,598,000.00 in a series of intensified anti-drug operations.

Operation Highlights:

January 5, 2025 – Iligan City

Personnel from the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of Iligan City Police Office (ICPO) conducted a buy-bust operation at Purok 11, Brgy. Tomas Cabili, Iligan City. The operation led to the arrest of a suspect known as alias “Ever,” a 40-year-old male resident of Brgy. Saray, Iligan City, who had a history of violating R.A. No. 9165.

Seized Items:

  • Five heat-sealed sachets containing approximately 60 grams of suspected shabu.
  • Estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP): PhP408,000.00.
  • PhP500.00 used as buy-bust money.

January 6, 2025 – Cagayan de Oro City

At around 8:00 PM, a collaborative operation by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 10 (RPDEU 10), Regional Intelligence Division 10 (RID10), Special Operations Unit 10 (SOU-10), and Regional Intelligence Unit 10 (RIU10) was conducted in Accreation, Brgy. Macabalan. Alias “Madam,” a 32-year-old female resident of the barangay, was apprehended.

Seized Items:

  • Eight heat-sealed sachets containing approximately 65 grams of suspected shabu.
  • Estimated SDP: PhP442,000.00.
  • PhP1,000.00 used as buy-bust money.

Later that evening, at about 9:02 PM, a joint operation by the CDEU and City Intelligence Unit (CIU) of Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) at San Lazaro, Brgy. Lapasan, resulted in the arrest of alias “Jerry,” a 32-year-old identified as a high-value individual.

Seized Items:

  • Eighteen heat-sealed sachets containing approximately 110 grams of suspected shabu.
  • Estimated SDP: PhP748,000.00.
  • An android phone.
  • PhP500.00 used as buy-bust money.

Charges and Commendations

All suspects are now in custodial facilities, awaiting charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of R.A. No. 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of PRO10, lauded the operatives for their unwavering commitment to combatting illegal drugs.

“Our successful operations demonstrate PRO10’s unwavering dedication to eradicating illegal drugs and ensuring the safety and security of our communities. We call on the public to continue supporting our efforts by providing information that will help us achieve a drug-free society,” he stated.
