Malaybalay City, Bukidnon — In a significant operation against illegal drugs, the Malaybalay City Police Station (CPS), under the supervision of PLTCOL Joepet B. Paglinawan, Officer-in-Charge, in coordination with the Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit (BUK PIU), successfully conducted a joint buy-bust operation in Purok 1, Teachers Village, Barangay Sumpong, Malaybalay City, on Thursday.
The operation resulted in the arrest of a 32-year-old high-value individual (HVI) from Purok 4A, Barangay Gusa, Cagayan de Oro City. The suspect, identified as a married extra laborer in machinery, was apprehended with 30.148 grams of suspected shabu valued at Php 205,006.40, based on the standard drug price.
A case for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, has been prepared against the suspect. The individual, along with the confiscated evidence, was brought to the Malaybalay City Police Station for documentation and will be forwarded to the Provincial Forensic Unit for further qualitative and quantitative examination.
Malaybalay City Police personnel received commendation for their efforts from PCOL Culaway, who stated:
