A joint buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 10 (PDEA RO-10) and the Iligan City Police Office (ICPO) Police Station 4 resulted in the arrest of four drug personalities in Barangay Tambacan, Iligan City. The operation, led by the PDEA RO-10 Lanao del Norte Provincial Office in collaboration with its Seaport Interdiction Unit, underscores the agency’s ongoing commitment to eradicating illegal drug activities in the region.
Authorities confiscated approximately 6 grams of suspected shabu, valued at Php 40,800.00, based on the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) valuation. The arrested individuals, whose identities were revealed through aliases, are as follows:
- Alias Johnrey, 45 years old, married, and a resident of Barangay Tambacan, Iligan City;
- Alias Dennis, 39 years old, single, and a resident of Barangay Tambacan, Iligan City;
- Alias Marsol, 35 years old, single, and a resident of Barangay Tambacan, Iligan City; and
- Alias Mark Iann, 32 years old, married, and a resident of Barangay Kalangahan, Lugait, Misamis Oriental.
The suspects are set to face charges for violating provisions of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. This law outlines stringent penalties for individuals involved in the manufacturing, distribution, and sale of illegal drugs in the Philippines.
In a statement, PDEA RO-10 emphasized its dedication to fostering safer communities free from the dangers of illegal drugs. “This operation highlights our steadfast commitment to ensuring a drug-free society. We urge the public to stay vigilant and support efforts to combat illegal drug activities,” the agency said.
